Cleaning a Music Recording Studio – Important Tips to Keep in Mind

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way people interact in public environments as many now choose venues that are constantly kept clean and disinfected. Music recording studios are no exception, as studio owners are waging hyper-awareness about disinfecting hands before and after touching and using shared surfaces and devices.

While such rules are inconvenient for some customers, the majority of recording studio users actually patronize facilities that observe hygienic practices. After all, modern music rooms or recording studios are currently in high demand, but facilities that have very little regard for sanitation and hygiene are often ignored or bypassed as potential choices. Mainly because such public venues are natural magnets for germs and transmissible and infectious saliva.

Heed Suggestions to Replace Air Conditioners with an HVAC System

First off, modern recording studios have upgraded their air conditioning equipment by installing HVAC systems. The main distinction between a conventional air conditioner and a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment is not just the expanded functionalities. HVACs are outfitted with HEPA filters or the High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters recommended by the Dept. of Energy.

According to experts, the most advanced HEPA filters can remove from indoor air circulation about 99.97% of the minute particles (0.3 microns small) like dust, pollens, airborne bacteria and mould-promoting agents.

Cleaning the HVAC System

While an HVAC System serves as an air-cleaning device, the equipment also requires cleaning and maintenance to ensure it renders the best performance. The following are the most important steps to take when cleaning the HVAC System:

1. Pay attention to the outdoor areas surrounding your HVAC system, particularly the condenser location. The areas can be the major sources of the particulate matter entering your home. The amount sucked in as indoor air can easily run down the filters and condenser of the HVAC.

2. Manually remove the accumulation of particles in the vents and registers.

3. Reset the thermostats and test the air conditioning.

4. Have a professional HVAC installer inspect and clean the air ducts at least once a year.

Additional Cleaning Tips for a Music Recording Studio

Cleaning the Keyboard

A music recording studio’s keyboard is another piece of equipment that should receive proper house cleaning attention. While there are a lot of recommendations online for homemade cleaning solutions, bear in mind that killing pathological microorganisms and viruses is your primary goal.

A simple antibacterial dishwashing soap and sponge can do an excellent job of cleaning the keys. Just make sure you’ve squeezed out excess water and cleaning solution out of the sponge, to prevent water from dripping in between keys, To rinse, thoroughly wipe the keys with wet wipes and then wipe dry with an absorbent cloth. Turn on the electronic equipment only after every key and keyboard surface is dry.

Cleaning the Microphone

Using an alcohol-moistened swab, thoroughly wipe down the cables and booms. Pay special attention to areas needing etra effort in removing dirt build-ups.

Spray a little amount of dishwashing liquid on mic filters especially in areas where gunk has accumulated. Using a clean damp cloth, patiently wipe away stubborn gunk appearing by repeatedly spritzing a small amount of dishwashing liquid on the affected area. After wiping the filter dry, wrap each mic individually with a paper towel to keep it from developing a musty smell. Wait for 24 hours to lapse before using the newly cleaned microphones.

What SEO for Independent Music Artists is Like

A lot has changed in the music industry ever since advancements in digital technology enabled independent music artists to record and publish their own music. However, it’s a long and hard way to the top as an indie artist. Just like any business, they have to invest on marketing and advertising costs if they want to have their songs appear in the radar of potential fans.

SEO for Music is Not the Same as the SEO for General Searches

SEO for general Google searches is not applicable as a method for achieving the SEO goals of budding music artists. After all, music lovers who want to discover new music can get better results from using the search engines of Spotify, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Apple Music. However, if one is an aspiring music artist looking to hit the top of different music charts, one has to think big by having an Internet presence for growing a fan base.

If your music gets discovered, your potential fans would like to know more about you; and what it is about you that makìes your song relatable to their interests and experiences in life. Yet they might find you digitally obscure and seemingly unpopular, since your name, or your band’s name or any lyrics carried in your song, hardly appear in the top pages of Google’s SERP (search engine results page). It’s likely that they’ll lose interest in following you up or for that matter, in finding out if you have other songs to offer music enthusiasts.

As an indie artist, you have control over your songs and you can record and release every composition you come up with. what you don’t have are the clout and the machinery of record label companies to market and promote not just your songs, but your career as a musician, as well.

Music SEO is not focused on the words you used as lyrics in the song you uploaded in Spotify, or a song released as part of a playlist in a YouTube video. This denotes that if you are to optimize a song, you will be working with keywords that are universal to a lot of musicians and their compositions.

How Does SEO Work in Helping Indie Music Artists Become Highly Visible

First off, one must have an understanding of how SEO works in improving one’s visibility in the digital music realm.

Have someone to act as your digital marketing manager, who will help improve your availability in SERP’S suggested websites.

The concept of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) generally involves making the structure and content of a website work like a magnet to keywords used as indices by the search engine crawlers. Even before searches are made, the millions of websites in Google’s browser platform have been organized according to keywords that act as indices. So the best way to make a website or your social media posts highly visible to search engine crawlers, is by making sure they contain keywords most likely used as results indices.

When a search engine query is launched, the answers are selected based on keywords. The appearance of answers in the top pages of the SERPs depends on how the website or web-based publication is ranked as the most relevant. The ranking system follows a set of protocols or rules formulated as search engine algorithms.

SEO for music is not about composing songs using highly searched keywords. It’s about using popular keywords to describe you as a music artist, as a songwriter, maybe as a Latin songwriter, or as a composer of pop Latin love songs. These are just examples of how you can use keywords to make you and your songs visible through your website and your social media account profiles.

Booking Your First Gig!

Perhaps, you have just formed a brand new band that has not been scheduled for a gig yet but all set for the first one. It could also be that you are a songwriter who is planning to transition from an open mic to a longer show. Regardless of your situation, the end goal is to be booked for a gig and start performing.

For some, it says that you need to improve your appearance and be charming to have better chances of being booked and noticed. This is why some musicians are opting to grow beards and getting tips from Bartwuchs Mittle, which is a good thing.

Waiting for the Perfect Timing

It doesn’t make sense to search for gigs for your first show if it’ll end up being a train wreck. Rather, concentrate on practicing until you have perfected your session and are confident enough to put on a show. Remember, treat this as if it’s your last chance to prove yourself so better do it right on the first time.

Present a Demo

Now for the demo, you can do this either as an audio or recording. While some may say that it is outdated, particularly among those who are recording at home and have the chance to tinker until the time that they have completed the song from what began as a demo only.

However, think of it like this; you must be able to provide a demo of your talent as well as your style to your prospective booking agent. Providing a recording of your best performance or perhaps, a YouTube video of your actual performance is the ideal way of showing your agent the things you can offer them.

Use Your Connections

Do you happen to know people that are in need of an opening act? Do you know already any owners of a venue or a booking agent? Whenever possible, what you want to do is to tap into your network within the music industry in an effort to make progress with your career.

It is indeed not easy to book your first gig. A lot of work has to be done and you have to prove yourself too. But once it is all said and done, it is going to be worth it!

How Music is affecting the Sales of a Business?

Being a business owner either of a restaurant, hotel Neuschwanstein or a storefront, you are aiming to deliver the best experience both for your employees and customers. A way of doing this is by improving the atmosphere of the workplace. As a matter of fact, just one way of doing that without even having to make serious renovation in your store is by playing the right music.

The Correlation of Music and Business

There have been a number of psychological studies trying to understand the productivity of employees and the behavior of shoppers depending on the background music being played. Truth is, there are 3 major qualities that is used to measure these changes and these are tempo, volume and genre.

Tempo

In a study conducted in 1982, it was discovered that the tempo of the music impacts the behavior of shoppers in grocery stores. The experiment was conducted in two points:

  1. Slow music increases the number of time shoppers spend insider the store which leads to the second point;
  2. There’s a 32% sales increase when the music playing in the background has a fast beat

Based on research, fast music is normally associated to higher emotional arousal leading to faster movement in the store. In comparison, slow music results to a calmer atmosphere and slower pace. Thus, shoppers are spending more time checking out the items and are likely to buy more.

Volume

In a different study focusing about music’s volume and its impact, it showed that loud music creates less time spent inside the store while softer music creates a leisurely pace and engages customers to spend more time inside.

However, the amount of time spent by customers inside the establishment didn’t correlate to either the decrease or increase in sales.

Genre

The music genre can be personalized depending on the nature of your store. To give you an example, there are studies showing that playing classical music inside wine stores has the tendency to boost the original spending budget of customers in buying one. It is not basically just about buying more but, by buying the high ticket items inside the store.

Crucial Tips Every Starting Musician Should Know

Venturing into new things unprepared and assuming stuff to pass without you doing anything is going to result in intense frustration.

The beginning of any journey can be exciting yet nerve-wracking as well and it’s no new with any kind of music. But don’t let emotion divert your focus from the difficulties that you’ll have to experience.

When you are only a beginner, I personally think that you should have the right thinking and some actual steps to work on so that is the goal of this article.

1. Do not think that the musician and the marketer is one

If you really desire for your music to be famous, then there are two views that work well with each other, the music and the lemiapps advertising or promotion.

The artist attempts to concentrate on the art, performing, completing and then repeating the process again. However, if this sequence keeps happening, who is responsible for the marketing?

2. Concentrate on attention first then  follow it by sales

If you are alone in the journey, you can freely give gold to anyone as no one will actually take it. Why do you need to sell it in the first place? No one knows you exist, like who cares? You first have to be able to get in front of an audience to gain exposure and make them love your art. After that, you can then sell your work to them or something.

3. Most of the time, nothing will work on the first time

Trust the process. This is true, particularly on you music ventures. If you notice some of the advice in this blog or other blogs and you try them for a white and they are not effective to you, don’t get bitter and stop, just see it as a learning curve.

4. Don’t always depend on platforms, particularly when you are a beginner.

Social media platforms with billions of users can boost your exposure. However,  most of the users, most of the time, they are not always going to give you enough exposure that you need. They opt to favor already authorized users and show them rather than newer users.

Be Creative: The Creation of Music Videos

The creation of a music video is no longer primarily subject to artistic requirements, but primarily serves as a marketing strategy. It was not always like this! Until a few years ago, the production of music videos was reserved for particularly successful musicians due to the immense cost and effort involved. Every band and every musician can now produce appealing and successful music videos with the support of professionals.

Which song would you like to have a music video produced for?

There is one important fact to keep in mind when choosing the right song: a music video can take longer to produce than you initially think. So that the single for which the video is to be created has not already been released before the video is finished, it is advisable to create a precise schedule here and, if necessary, to fall back on a song whose official release date is still a bit away.

Turn to professionals for the production of your music video!

A specialized team is part of every professional music video production. And you should definitely not do without it! It doesn’t matter whether your planned video appears very simple or totally complicated. Having a team of professionals increases production costs, but will ultimately turn out to be a win-win for your music video production. In addition to the individual actors, what you definitely need is:

The more professional you want your music video to be in the end, the more it is advisable to hire external specialists. When choosing the professionals to work on your production, however, there are a few important points to consider that can affect both the quality and the cost of your music video:

Check the references of the respective professionals. You can quickly get an idea of their skills and specialty areas and then weigh up who best suits your individual requirements.

Independent evaluations of the individual experts also give you a good insight into the reliability of the individual professionals and the quality of their products. Be sure to find out more about the future members of your film crew!

Buying film equipment is rarely worthwhile – today people rent!

Rent instead of buy! With low-priced rental offers, you can save money when you rent technology you trust. And that leaves you more leeway for other costly points on the way to your music video.

Who should edit the footage for the music video?

The previously recorded images only show their full potential when they are subsequently edited – but this task can also be correspondingly demanding and time-consuming. In addition to patience and technical know-how, you also need a lot of patience and patience.

The right software and hardware for video editing doesn’t have to be expensive

If you plan on doing the editing and digital post-processing of your music video yourself, a simple, free editing program can be just the thing for you. On Macs this is called iMovie, on classic PCs Adobe’s Premiere Elements. Although free, these programs often produce very professional results.

Last but not least: Creativity in music video production is the key to success

Only with approaches that no one else has had, your music video will ultimately really stand out from the crowd and touch your viewers emotionally. As long as you stick to your personal plan, all paths to a professional music video are open to you, even with a smaller budget. Watching the music videos you made is great using iptv france, smart tv.

Instagram Reels : An Alternative Social Media Tool for Promoting Your Own Music

Trump’s TikTok ban is something promoters and influencers must take seriously, since the outgoing POTUS is still looking to get back at social media sites. Anyway, whatever happens, musicians should know that Instagram now has a video sharing tool called Reels that they can use in promoting their music. Instagram Reels works pretty much the same way as TikTok; perhaps even better.

What Makes Instagram Reel Ideal as a Music Sharing App

A lot of influencers are migrating from TikTok to Instagram’s new Reels as Instagram’s parent company Facebook, invested a lot of funds and effort in creating a feature that can provide the same or even better video-sharing feature of TikTok. This denotes that Reels only allows video clips lasting only 15 seconds long.

instagram Reels Tools Available for Music Video Clip Creators

The Instagram Reels feature was released with the basic tools needed to creatively produce a 15-second long video clip, which include the following:

The Audio, which provides a search bar to use when looking for songs they love enough to use. An IG Reels user’s original music will automatically be included in the Instagram music library. If the musician’s IG account is Public, other content creators can use the original song or music composition as audio to their own Stories or Reels.

Timer and Countdown Reels creators looking to promote their music can make sure they’ll be recoding the best edition. The Timer and Countdown tools, allow them to get ready and record hands-free using the timer and countdown before the camera shoots.

Align – To make sure that your videos will have smooth transition from one 15-second clip to the next, this tool will indicated whether your next clip is aligned with video clip before it.

Speed –When looking to keep up and stay with the beat or to create a slow motion effect, the IG Reels has a tool that allows users to control the speed.

AR Effects – These are feature enhancing tools for creating unique special effects to make one’s Reels more attractive and interesting.

New Tools Recently Added To Instagram Reels:

Early this month, Instagram released new creative tools in the Reels section as a way to help promoters and influencers improve their Reels content.

New updates in the Reels inckude  “Edit Clips” to give Reel users the ability to change elements withing a specified capacity.

Reel Watermarks – Since a user may decide to go public and allow other IG members to use his original music, the Watermarks will make sure that the original composer will be given credit for the shared music content

Mix Audio and Voice-over are tools to use when a Reels creator wants to add numerous audio tracks in one video clip. The icon for this tool can be found at the top of the Reels composer screen, represented by a microphone image.

Branded Content tags allow Reels video clip to indicate if the content is sponsored by a business or company collaborator.

Multi-capture mode and Camera Booth – These are the tools essential to video clip creators looking to shoot numerous sequential images with just a single press or tap of the button.

Still, there is one drawback that has been holding musicians to use Instagram Reels instead of TikTok, while keeping their fingers crossed that the ban will not be permanent once President Biden is in office. All Instagram features, with the exception of InstaTV, can only be linked to one’s Instagram bio, whilst capable of holding only a single external link.

That problem though can be solved by using an Instagram bio link tool, offered by several many 3rd party providers. Here, the link will be contained in a landing page created in a musician’s account with the bio link provider. The latter in return will provide the IG content creator with a URL to use as his or her Instagram bio link.

A Year Of Struggle For The Live Music Industry

There are concerts that comply with Corona regulations. Mostly, however, as open-air events and thanks to financial support. In Munich, tens of bands performed on a small summer stage in the Olympic Stadium. The concerts cost nothing, only 400 spectators were allowed. The Association of Munich Cultural Organizers treats itself to this. As part of the summer festival, there were also several open-air concerts in the Kampnagel venue in Hamburg. The Berlin singer Christiane Rösinger, for example, have performed there – in front of no more than the permitted 99 spectators. And small live shows also took place on the summer terrace in the House of World Cultures in Berlin.

Live Music Industry Struggles To survive Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

“You can organize such events especially in funded institutions with a budget for concerts”, says Wieland Krämer from Powerline, whose Berlin-based agency is also responsible for Rösinger’s appearance in Hamburg. And he adds: “Playing cash in a club in front of 30 to 50 people makes no sense.”

When talking to representatives of the live industry, there is hardly any sense of confidence given the dramatic situation. “2020 was a total failure for live entertainment, 2021 will be a year of reparations,” said André Krüger from Channel Music. That sounds a bit like hope.

It could be a difficult 2021 for Live Music

But even if the concert business would slowly start up again soon, it should be a very difficult next year for a locally relatively large multi-event organizer like Trinity. The company organizes large open airs in the citadel or forest stage as well as appearances by indie bands in smaller clubs. “At the end of the day, however, we only really earn money with the bigger shows,” says André Krüger.

Concerts in the smaller shops with up to 800 spectators, what makes Berlin so special, are mostly negative deals. Which you just take with you because they are good opportunities for bands that may be successful in the future and whose implementation is therefore essential. “At the moment when Corona takes the opportunity to host larger concerts, we have the problem that we cannot actually help finance the small things,” he says.

Currently, the Berlin Senate’s imagination does not go beyond the permitted 1,000 spectators who will be admitted to indoor events from October. If it stayed that way until further notice, the larger concerts with tens of thousands of viewers necessary for cross-financing Trinity would continue to be banned. In addition, according to Krüger, the major European tours of international artists are also dependent on the corona developments in European countries.

That left the somewhat larger national artists. “But there is the problem,” said the Channel Music boss, “that you won’t be able to do a tour for them if you can play in front of 2,000 people or more in Berlin due to the different corona regulations in North Rhine-Westphalia but only before 750. At federal level, clear guidelines for our industry must first be created. ”

A deep crisis

The live entertainment sector is in a deep crisis that will continue. But what if he can’t start again soon to slowly shovel his way out of the precarious situation? What if the state aid does not continue to help one on one, as Norbert Jackschenties from the private club complains?

Then the concert scene in Berlin will change massively. Even so, organizer Berthold Seliger already believes that “25 to 30 percent of the smaller agencies will no longer exist next year. That is a problem, as we then slowly only have the uniformity and the uniformity that the big companies organize. ”He actually fears cut-throat competition. “The big ones have insane war chests. They will survive longer and have longer stamina than the small companies. Of course, the big ones will try to buy smaller companies. I think that will not be for the benefit of cultural diversity.

Given the situation, some musicians are selling t-shirts via heat press (read this post from Palmgear) to earn cash and to support their music.

The business processing services play a very critical role in helping a series of technical and calling procedures, that stays a part of any business activity to the clients. U.S. Music Gear Manufacturers Feeling the impact of Trump’s Tariffs on EU Exports

Even before the U.S.-China trade tensions escalated into a full-blown Trade War, a broad list of U.S. manufacturing industries had already been hit hard by President Trump’s trade tariffs. The series of tariff increases went into effect as early as January 2018.

Nearly all economists gave warnings that increased import taxes will also trigger increase in prices, and adversely affect trade relationships with affected countries, as well as disparage global economic growth. Trump insisted that tariffs will enrich the U.S., whilst stating

”Trade wars are good, and easy to win.”

Although Trump’s political advocacies and methods on how to globally put the country in a strong trading position seemed not to hurt other industries, the opposite actually happened. China and the EU, have in turn imposed retaliatory tariffs on goods imported from the U.S.

instead of rethinking, Trump made an even bolder move by announcing that all products exported by U.S. businesses to China will be also be slapped with a 25% tariff increase. As a result, the trade tension between the United States and China had developed into a full-blown Trade War. Many commented that Trump’s Tariffs actually had one principal objective, to weaken China’s economy and force the country to change its own global trading practices.

How Trump’s Tariff Policies Affected, and Will Continue to Affect the Music Gear Industry

On June 24, 2018, the Union of European countries announced a 50% increase on certain products that will be imported from the U.S. The list includes items that can have a significant impact on the music gear industry, specifically those that export the following:

  1. Portable Electronic Readers, particularly the battery operated type used in recording and in reproducing text.
  2. Apparatus for processing digital signal used in mixing sound, while connected to a wired or wireless network.
  3. Electrical machines capable of providing translation services or dictionary functions.

To make it clear, if a U.S. music gear manufacturer buys from an E.U. country, it is a US import currently not included in the list of products subject to Trump’s Tariff increases. However, on the part of buyers in EU countries, they will likely pay higher prices on US made music gear or music-related devices. Mainly because European importers/dealers of U.S. made products, will likely pay an additional 50% tax on such U.S. imports.

If China’s retaliatory 25% tariff on all U.S. exports continue, this will all the more make U.S. made products, less competitive globally. Most American manufacturers, including those that produce U.S.-made music gears and music-related devices, procure components from China. If so, their purchases will then constitute China’s U.S. exports that are subject to 25% tariff.

That being the case, the higher cost of China-made components will result to less profit. That being the case,  manufacturers and retailers will pass on the additional costs to end-user consumers.

Local retailers therefore will also find it difficult to compete in the buying and selling business. After all, the resulting increase in cost of inventories will eat directly into their profits. As it is, the uncertainty of where the trade war with China is headed, makes it it difficult for them to offer voucher code that offer tempting price reductions.
